This watch was authenticated in-house before listing. The -.01.002 terminal is the sapphire-sandwich variant within the 2021 Cal. 3861 redesign: sapphire front, sapphire display caseback, stainless steel bracelet — distinguished from the -.01.001 hesalite-with-solid-caseback spec that matches the original moon-flown format. Cal. 3861 is the Master Chronometer successor to the 1861, gaining a co-axial escapement, silicon hairspring, and 15,000-gauss resistance without sacrificing the manual-winding architecture or the asymmetric case. The step dial — a raised outer chapter ring pulled from pre-Professional Speedmasters — is specific to the 3861 generation and the fastest way to identify a post-2021 piece on sight.
